yep I agree with thwarted or muttt time LOCK the dogs in a room or crate or find a daycare arrangement (probably preferred)so MIL can't get to her. a pom is small enough for even a little old lady to kill with bare hands. and consider moving out or uninviting MIL Shes potentially a danger to you also.
