Can Someone please help me?

Since the divorce was in New York she would probably have to file there but I suspect that there is little worry since she abandoned the boy. You would have to talk to an attorney to find out if he needs to file for custody in New York or California but he should check the divorce papers again because I would have thought that would have given him custody since she wasn't there to contest that.
