When is collection account deleted on credit report.the day it was sent to collections or first delinquency?

Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act (Federal law) derogatory accounts show on credit reports for 7-years from the date of first delinquency which works out to 7-years and 180-days unless you can get them to agree to a pay for delete agreement.
